I feel there's a time and place for both things.
FiM does, for the most part, a good job of balancing those two approaches to storytelling.
I deem that using both in moderation and at the right times is the best way of doing business.
As far as topics I would like to see, I'm still waiting for someone to try and flesh out the history of Equestria.
I feel there's the potential for some very Lord-of-The-Rings-esque stories to be had with that, perhaps from the perspective of a young Celestia, or Star Swirl.

When I'm not entirely sure if something is plastic or metal, I'll bite it and touch it with the tip of my tongue. That's probably a gross thing to do, but it satisfies my curiosity. It's easier to tell between plastic and metal if you bite it and taste it.
Whatever works, I suppose.I pace constantly. I used to go for walks at night, but stopped to avoid freaking out the neighborhood.
Now I pace like crazy in my room. In my old house I actually had a path worn into my rug from it.

I'm having a hard time recognizing it, I'm so used to hearing it spoken, and it always sounds so very harsh.
A Capella groups are great fun to listen to.
