Help with starting the game

Hello, everypony.

I have just downloaded the game on my macbook pro half an hour ago, and since then, I've been trying my hardest to start the game. All it does is bob about in my dock, and when I click on it, the app icon disappears from my dock.

Someone, please help me. I am very eager to play this game, and I don't want to be put down by some problem with starting the app.
