Don't get me wrong, I love SMF. I'm quite fond of this software having used forums powered by it 7-8 years ago. It's nice, and it's functional, but these days there are far better alternatives.

Two examples I'd recommend considering are IP.Board and XenForo. IP.Board is the most aesthetically pleasing forum software I've encountered ever, but it's loaded with bugs and problems. Whether or not that will be easier to deal with in their upcoming version 4.0 remains to be seen. Their purchase plans are all quite expensive too, which is a definite drawback.

I don't have as much experience with XenForo, but it is visually appealing and very functional. I like it better than SMF, but it's not as intuitive as IP.Board's design, in my opinion. That being said, the software seems to be less buggy and it is highly customizable.

Welcome! ^^ What are Belgian Fries? Haven't heard of them, I bet they're good though.

Just finished playing through Child of Light for the 3rd time. I played it on Casual mode the first time, and did new game+ twice after that, in succession, on Expert mode. Therefore I kept all of my character stats, items, and so on while replaying the story.

The level curve is intense. The main character, Aurora, went from level 1-55 in my first playthrough of the game, 56-82 or so the second time, and only 82-93 the third time. The max level is 99. I'm sure I'll play through the story a 4th time when I feel like it, as it's absolutely beautiful. But in the meantime I might just farm ultra high-level enemies to try to reach max level.

Tried opening the game twice, but it crashed both times...so now I have decided to make good use of the Windows launcher...let's hope it'll put a band-aid on this boo-boo! ^-^

I always join whichever one has the lowest ping at the time. The downside is that there aren't as many people around, but I want to be able to explore the game as much as I can during the OSWs. I absolutely love it so far. Amazing accomplishment, especially considering that the people working on this are doing it for free, as far as I know.

The only things I saw that I felt could be improved were pretty minor things. I'm pretty sure I first played LoE in 2012, maybe 2013, and the game has come a long way since then.

It's not practical to code around anti-virus software, especially ones with aggressive heuristics, as it is impossible to know what they look for. This is an online game, so this can happen.

It is possible to report a False Positive to them so they can remove the detection on their end. With most of the software you use, the devs probably did that before they shipped the software, which is why you don't see these erroneous detections with popular software. I'm not sure how useful this is right now while the game is still heavily under development and only open for a few days at a time, but we can definitely keep that in mind. For now setting an exception should do the trick.

This sounds fair to me.

Glad you came back ^_^

I really don't think the game is malicious, but I still don't get why it sets off Norton's alarms so much. I've used Norton for years, and I play a ton of games. This is the only one that has this problem.

Surely they could code the game in a way to avoid this if most everyone else does so with their games. I don't think Norton is the best antivirus by any means, but it certainly is one of the most popular. It would be a worthwhile investment of time to avoid tripping its alarms.

Does anyone know if moderators are being hired at this point in time? I'm 18 years old and interested in helping out. I've had about 3 years of experience with moderation and administration on LuaLearners (defunct) and MLP Forums, the latter I'm currently on a hiatus from (my choice). I've also had about 2 years of experience with working with people in real life ranging from young children to senior citizens and anywhere in between as a volunteer at my local library.

Aside from staff experience, I've had about 8 years of general experience with internet forums and 6-7 years of experience with MMO games, such as Roblox.

I'm hosting one of the servers on my home connection. I can say right now that this game most definently need stronger servers. It's just not to take any spare PC  :c

Maybe you guys should start a donation pool so that you can afford more/better servers.

the most common joke is 2020, but probably within a year or so would be reasonable.

Okay, cool. I'll definitely be here then.

I'm just curious, do you guys have an estimated time of when alpha will be released? If I understand correctly what was released yesterday would be pre-alpha. I'm hoping that alpha will be released sometime next year, but I don't know, that looks like a lot of work.

They do have quite a lot left on the Road to Alpha graph. X3 And I think they're going to release it in Beta, not Alpha. So, that's even more waiting for us.

That's fine with me. I hope that there will be a Road to Beta graph too, though, once they complete everything on the lists for Alpha. That would be awesome.

after all we only have what, a day more?

We have Saturday and Sunday.

I asked their Lead Programmer earlier if the servers would be open all weekend, and he or she told me that they will be open until sometime this Monday.

I can log in fine, but when I try to connect to the Discord server it tries to connect for several minutes and then just times out. Is anyone else having problems connecting to that server, or is it just my computer?

Happens to me. Only Crysalis will load.

Okay, thanks. I'll try the Crysalis server.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I just learned about this game today, but it looks pretty cool. I'm looking forward to participating in the alpha stress test.

I'm a huge fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (in fact, the show changed my life, but I won't elaborate on that here), and in turn, I really enjoy checking out the various fan art, fictions, games, etc.
