E-mail notifications for events

It would be nice if there was a mass E-mail people could sign up for notifying them on events (such as the ones posted on the home page) so I'm not a week late every time.

I think the use of the mass email function for that would be slight overkill, but that's just me.  However, a way to notify you of any posts in the news thread by email (Thread subscriptions) would be a better alternative so people who don't want to be spammed with administrative emails(Me) don't get annoyed by them.

Was thread subscriptions brought up before?  I never use them so I don't know

We can send a mass email for events. I'll be sure to ask if we'd like to send mass emails in the future.
