She likes to hold dear to her necklace, believing it gives her more power. It makes her independent to others by assuming she can do anything by herself, thus the name Independent. Even though it contradicts the over-dependence to her necklace, which leads to the second name:

Blue:

Blue is the color of the sky. Ever-changing, pure, and somehow awkward and uncanny if you look at it long enough and realized that it's just the reflection of the sea which in turn is the reflection of the sky (Yeah, I know). Blue also signifies the feeling of restlessness and depression, and being the fifth color of a rainbow gives her the benefit of being a happy-go-lucky adorkable.

That would be a fractal, specifically the Mandelbrot set, which displays fine detail even up to 2000 times the magnification.  They're truly quite amazing geometric objects.
