Was it the first time you saw an episode of MLP FIM? Did a certain piece of merchandise capture your imagination? Maybe you went to a con with a pony friend, quietly laughing to yourself lol, and left quietly sobbing with joy? D: What was your defining moment?
Mine was early in the morning (or the end of my night since I'm a night pony); I was flicking through the TV channels and, in desperation for anything that wasn't an infomercial, I turned on MLP FIM. It was already 10 minutes into the episode but it didn't matter, it was Lesson Zero (nice one to start with, eh?) :I and I haven't missed another since.
I now envy anypony who has yet to discover all the ponies have to offer, but I wouldn't trade my own experience for anything. <3

Before I give my answer, let me ask:

What defines "Brony"/"Pegasister"? Are they just someone who simply likes the show. Or more of an fanatic: having some/lot's of merchandise, following many sites dedicated to the series and possibly going to Cons.

I for instance enjoy the show, the fanart, fanmusic and fangames. But I'm not fan enough to get the merchandise or choose the "Best Pony" or going to Conventions unless they have Anime & Manga too.

So personally I wouldn't call myself a "Brony" or "Pegasister" but rather a "Come-along" who is holding onto a rope behind the car and being dragged.

So in this way, I have never become a Brony/Pegasister.
I'm not a fan of the series but I do enjoy it.

First off, to answer Sapphirethunder's question, everybody has different views on what exactly defines a brony/pegasister. For me, someone who likes/loves the show, owns merchandise, goes to cons, gets involved in the community (whether it be forums, artwork, fanfiction, etc.), or any combination of the abive to any degree, would be considered one.

With that said, it's been almost two years since I first laid my eyes on the show. A couple days after my 18th birthday is when I first saw Boast Busters, and wouldn't you know it, today is my 20th birthday. I didfn't get involved with the community until 2 weeks later in August.

When  I became  a brony, I was watching the show to see how bad it was, Since I watched G3.5 when I was little.  But, as I went along, the show became more and more interesting. When I finished the first episode, I was immediately subdued by My Little Pony. This wasn't the terrible thing I was watching when I was little!

At first I was like :l
But then I was all :3

My older sister and I were looking for somethin' new on Netflix, and we came across... My Little Pony. And she was just like, "Let's try it." So we did. We loved it. We continued watching it. Eventually for me, it elevated to drawing pictures, then I invented Rainstorm, my first OC. Then I started looking for forums, stumbling on this place. I am now a brony.

I'm sure I started watching the show some time around January 2012 however I never really started being a true brony (Buying merchandise and talking on forums ETC) until around April of that same year.

Ah, I remember how I became a brony like if it was yesterday...
Sometime in 2011, I was chatting with some friends in a chat (I remember exactly which chat it was but I won't link to it unless you want me to) and someone linked to a video of Flutterguy rapping something. One of the sugerencies was PONIES the Anthology and feeling very curious, I watched that amazing video. I wanted to know more about this interesting show, so I googled about it and stuff. Fortunately, in November of that year they begun airing MLP where I live.

Hmmm...Storytime.

It was a boring September, 2012. School, volleyball, home, homework, sleep. That was the routine. And I was bored of it. So I decided to try something new. I had heard a lot about MLP:FIM and decided to try it for myself. I HATE watching something without watching the pilot episode, so of course I started with the first episode. I thought the plot was too obvious, too cheesy. I decided to go on, knowing that pilots are often cliche and probably not the best episodes of a show. So I watched the next few episodes and fell in love with the show, and watched the entire season that was out already in less than 2 weeks. I was hooked. I spent all my time watching ponies, and even tried to skip volleyball to watch pony.

So that's my story. I don't have much pony stuff, just a Twilight Sparkle toy and a bunch of stickers.

I started off watching the show since people hated it so i gave it a chance. I liked the intro and the episode plus the morale of the episode but then the fanbase had started making things such as stories music and fan art i first listened to thelivingtombstone and glaze after that i read the stories like My Little Dashie and Fallout:Equestria

The most merchandise I have is a 2013 calendar. I'm not a giant fanatic. I wish I could go to cons, but I never know where/when they'll be, and I wouldn't be able to make it anyway.

It was somewhere in early 2011. Time flies; dem feels, bro.

The first episode I watched was Episode 3, then Episode 4, because they were on Hasbro's official site. Then I watched more on YouTube. Then I realized Season 1 was still going for another 2-3 episodes.

Then I looked up fanart. What more can I say?
Forget doubt.
