Okay, considering that Minecraft is one of my all-time favorite games,I thought I should discuss it. Also I am always on the lookout for cool new mods, since my attention span is kind of like Pinkie Pie's and I need los of content to keep my attention. :D
Anyhoo, since I have been working on an MLP resourcepack (128-128 with photorealistic textures, but still keeping the classic MLP appearance,) I have been thinking how we could use some more pony mods for Minecraft.

So the question is twofold:

What are your favorite Minecraft mods, and what do they do?

If you could make a mod to add MLP content into Minecraft, what would it be?

Keep in mind that pony models and pony racial traits are both available in mods, so try and come up with something other than those.

Some of my favorite mods include:

The Twilight Forest (another dimension with some of the most amazing structures and mobs, not to mention scenery. Bosses galore, special treasures and weapons that you can only find in dungeons, and an entirely new eries of dangers for those of you who feel like you want more of a challenge.)

Biomes-O-Plenty (Seriously, if you use mods, you at least know of this mod. Over 80 new biomes means you never get bored of looking at the scenery. And besides, it has an Orchard biome! :] Sure, Better Biomes changes rock types, and that is totally awesome, but BoP has cooler biomes, in my opinion.)

Ars Magica 2 (Crafting your own custom spells? It's every unicorn's dream!)

Elemental Creepers (Keeping your enemy list fresh, this mod sticks in lots of awesome new creepers! Cookie creepers which explode harmlessly into cookies, topsy-turvy creepers which completely flip their surroundings upside-down, and the dreaded hydrogen creeper, which is sort of like a creeper nuke.)

Pam's Harvestcraft (Over a hundred different delicious dishes you can cook! Also, with my resource pack, I use photos of real food, making the entire mod seem deliciously wonderful!)

Geostrata (All the new rock types and patterns they can be crafted into can be a bit annoying for you, but if you take the time to make a resource pack for them, [or if I ever finish mine,] then you have so many awesome new designs to add to your structures!)

Dooglamoo's Painter Mod (Or something like that. I know the guy's name is Dooglamoo. Anywhoo, this mod enables you to paint all types of amazing wallpaper designs. Goodbye boring wood walls, hello colorful decor!)

Witchery (Making potions is such fun! And besides, it's cool to see something which works using rituals and odd, quirky methods instead of simple craft item-use item style mods.)

There are more, but I don't want to bore you. Just go browsing! And leave some ideas for the rest of us!

Okay, this has been on my mind for a while, and I just want to ask everypony what they think. We all have our own favorite villains, but which villain do you honestly think is the scariest? After all, we have:

Nightmare Moon: Brings everlasting night. And she can hunt you even in your dreams.

Discord: He can corrupt your spirit, turn your entire world upside down, and pretty much do anything he likes to you. The only thing keeping him from doing anything truly harmful is his childish whimsy... which could change at any moment.

Queen Chrysalis: She can be anyone... even your dearest loved ones. And she is not alone. There are many more like her.

King Sombra: An incorporeal, eldrich presence who can send you to a world of your greatest fears and insecurities.

Sunset Shimmer: A demon lurks behind that smug smile, and she can turn people into her personal zombie slaves. She has great power... but not the wisdom on how to reign it in.

The Everfree Forest It can be anywhere... perhaps right beneath your hooves. (Remember how it attacked even in Canterlot?) And there isn't a single mind. You'r fighting an entire environment... which could return if even the smallest seed is left.

Tirek: He can steal everything that makes you powerful... and everything that makes you special. (He steals Cutie Marks too, remember?)

Oh, and I know Luna, Sunset, and Discord are reformed. I'm referring to the time that they weren't.

So, post your thoughts! Who is the scariest MLP villain? :I

Okay, I was wondering if anypony could help me. See, I'm working on a photo-realistic MLP resource pack for Minecraft. (No worries, I base them off of show vectors, so they still look like the ponies we all know and love, just with more detailed hair and fur.)

Problem is, I only know how to write over a premade resource pack, and I want this pack to be compatible with some of the mods I use. (I use the Magic World 2 mod pack, and I want to change the textures of some of the textures for some of the mods like Biomes O' Plenty and Natura.

So the question is, how does one create a resource pack for mods when the source files are jar files and can't be opened? (Keep in mind I have no special programs or programming knowledge.) I want to create resources for Biomes O' Plenty, Natura, Twilight Forest, and Better Storage, among others. The mod pack is on the Feed the Beast website, in case that helps.

Anypony who offers any advice I end up using will be put into the credits of my resource pack as a thank-you. ^-^

So, I was bored and silly, ( I get really silly sometimes when I'm bored,) and it suddenly came to me: Internet people are like Minecraft mobs! We can put most internet people into the categories of various Minecraft mobs based on their personal traits! Here is my list on what people are which mob. And like in Minecraft, the nasty mobs do tend to come out at night.
(This is just meant to be silly. I do not mean to offend any Minecraft mobs by associating them with Internet trolls and the like.)

The Steves These are the people who are rare and special. They create new and wonderful things, and make all sorts of stuff that bring joy, or information, or what have you. People like Mandopony, (or our ever-talented LoE team,) fall into this category.

The Villagers These are the people who try to sell things, like OCs or comissions, for far more than the product is worth. (Gimme three emeralds, and I'll give you a pony I made by pressing the random button in GeneralZoi's pony creator, even though you could easily do the same yourself for free!) Still, they're a sight better than the others....

The Endermen These are the internet pirates. Zip in, grab some stuff, and disappear before they can get caught.

The Creepers These are those people who wander about in forums and Youtube and such until they find something they dislike and blow up angrily! (Someone says Luna is not best princess? Ssssss.... KABOOM!!!)

The Zombies These are the people who mindlessly follow the group opinion and attack the Steves based on the comments others have made, rather than judging for themselves. (Muhhh... gahhhh... that movie was funny. I liked it. But look! Rotten Tomatoes hated it! So obviously it must not have been funny! Must... criticize... now!)

The Skeletons These people are just here to play games so they can spam attacks and "pwn noobs".

Spiders These are the people who's mood changes with the circumstances. Talk to them when the mods are looking, and they're friendly. But once the mods look away, they will jump at you when you least expect it with their venomous posts!

Zombie Pigmen These are the people who are usually peaceful... but a bit unstable. Say something they disagree with, and you become their sworn enemy for life! You have to watch what you say around them, or you may end up with a golden sword in your nose!

Ghasts These are the cowardly trolls of the internet. They like to attack from afar with destructive criticism, but when you actually confront them, they easily back down.

Blazes These are the people who start flame wars, continuously blasting away relentlessly until the whole forum is burning.

... yes, there are far more variety of people in real life, but like I said this was just for fun.
So before you go browsing... get your diamond sword. It's dangerous out there....

Pony Off-Topic Archive / Name Button's Mom!
2014 Apr 29, 00:09:22
Button's mom needs a name! Just calling her "Button's Mom" is kind of impersonal. So, it's time for us to step up and rectify this!

Okay, based on her Cutie Mark, (which seems to speak of maternal talents of some sort,) I hereby dub her....

"Tender Care!"

Spread it around. If we all give her this name, it might stick. Like Bon-Bon or Dr. Hooves. Come on, let's make this work!

>:O "You're going to LOOOOVVE HEEEEERRRRR!!!"

Also, I know a few other names for her exist out there, but they aren't really known or accepted yet. This is your chance to say, "You know Tender Care? Yeah, I was one of the people who started that."

Join the... um... well, it not a fight, so what is it... join the, um... thing! Vote for Tender Care!

Okay, before I start this, I just want you to know I'm not here to hate those with... different OCs. I'm not here to criticize, but to offer ideas. If these ideas imply that your OC is... er... not fitting with canon, then I'm sorry, but it may be true. If you don't want to look canon, that's your own deal. Just don't act offended when people says it looks out of place.
Also, absolutely NO CRITICIZING other individuals' OCs. I'm here to offer some tips, not to start a war. And plus, Princess Celestia wouldn't approve.

Anyhoo, let's start with the basics:

NO BLASTED ALICORNS!!!: ... do I even have to tell you that one? Making your pony an alicorn looks like you're trying too hart to be cool, and is rather unprofessional. Becoming an alicorn is not a common occurrence in Equestria, and so far as we know only come into being when a pony perform some epic act, like making new magic, so if you make your OC an alicorn, it's kind of like screaming out, "LOOK AT ME! I'M SPECIAL!". Believe me, it just kind of looks rather... Trixie-like.

Colors: Believe it or not, a blackish coat or mane isn't entirely unacceptable. But keep in mind that in MLP, they rarely use actual black, and thend to use softer colors. If your OC is going to be black, make them more of a very dark shade of grey, like Thunderlane.

Also, keep in mind that, while black never goes out of style, we don't want to wear it out. I mean, other than Thunderlane, and one other background pegasus that I glanced in "Wonderbolt Academy", we don't really see any black-colored ponies. So don't wear it out. Only use black if it is specifically is necessary for the character. (Say, if they happen to be an astronomer or have something to do with ink or the night or what have you.) Otherwise, regardless of how imaginative you really are, you will look like one of those unimaginative people who just picked what they assumed is the coolest color. (Which is silly. Everypony knows the coolest color is pink! :D)

As for other colors, please be a dear and don't do anything that would make Rarity call the fashion police. D: Neon green does not go with chartreuse. And while the recent episode "Trade Ya!" showed that black in manes is canon, it also, like black coats, shouldn't be worn out, and shouldn't be pure black, just a darker shade of grey.

Ask yourself if it would fit in show canon: Death, psychopaths, murder, and dark characters and backstories in general just don't fit in the Equestrian world. If your character is named "Bloody Killer", you probably are straying too far from show canon.
Also, not to be rude, but nopony wants a bunch of OCs who basically bring violence and general nastiness into the happy world of Equestria. Dark and gritty does not equal cool.
As for the more cheerful types, still give some thought to how your OC would fit into Equestria. Bat-ponies have only really been seen as the Lunar Guard, so unless your OC is a Lunar Guard, I recommend against bat ponies. And no darn draconequuses. For all we know, Discord is the only one of his kind.
Also, keep the canon in mind when designing your pony's special talent. An astronaut pony wouldn't have a lot to do, other than wait for space travel to be invented. (Besides being sent to the moon, of course.)

Don't use Vinyl Scratch's mane: I know it's cool, but too many OCs use it. It just looks unoriginal.

No antlers, weird eyes, dragon wings, colored stripes, or other crazy stuff: No. Just... no.

Finally, remember this is a general guide. With the exception of alicorns, and adding dark material into Equestria, there can be an exception to just about every rule. Just make sure that it's done with taste, and a good explanation.

Again if you are offended, I'm sorry. This isn't directed against anyone in particular. And remember, BE NICE! No criticizing other individuals' OCs. (Even if they may deserve it.)

Um... hello. My name is Dream Bolt. I'm kind of new here. That is to say, I'm very new here. At least, I will be when I write this post. I heard about this site from a friend, although I had known of the LoE game since, like, last fall. (I mean, seriously, do you honestly think there would be a pony game this awesome and I wouldn't find it?)

Anyhoo, I guess I should tell you a little about myself.  :)

I'm an aspiring author. I love writing, and I also love reading. ^-^ I'm not much for internet relationships, though, so please don't be offended if I don't really come across as super friendly. I mean, I'll almost always be friendly, but I probably won't be a friend. I just tend to stink with any friendship that isn't face-to-face. I also tend to be a bit shy as well. Well, not on the internet, of course. I mean, the internet provides anonymity that allows everypony who is shy to be ale to come out of their shells, (including me.)

Other than pony stuff, I love taking walks in nature, making silly movies, and occasionally painting or cooking. I also ADORE snacks, (hence my affinity for cooking,) and love to try new foods.

My Cutie Mark is a blue thought bubble. It stands for my creativity, I guess. I mean, I know I want to be a writer, but my true skill all in all is imagination, especially for creatures and worlds. Writing is just the medium I use best to portray his creativity.

A few more random facts about me:
My favorite song ever, (not including those special, emotional songs,) is Beyond Her Garden.
Unsurprisingly, I am also a huge Carrot Top/ Golden Harvest fan.
I am a big fan of Celestia, partially because of my love for light and the sun, and partially because she has that kind, sweet demeanor, and yet is so badflank!
I love apples, and try to eat an apple a day. I also love cider, apple juice, and other apple-based goods. :]
Despite having troubles with being cynical, I try to be very optimistic when I discuss things. (Celestia knows the internet could use some optimism.)
I tend to come up with convoluted and sometimes a bit far-fetched theories about just about any subject. (If Trixie returns as a main character in season 5, I called it, and without looking up any spoilers or theories on the internet.)
When it comes to real questions, (not silly ones, like 'are you really a pony', because I am,) I'm pretty much as honest as Applejack, so don't ask my opinion unless you want the truth. :l (Yes, that outfit does make you look a bit pudgy.)
I don't have a favorite pony, but the ponies who's episodes I tend to enjoy the most are Rarity and Pinkie Pie.
I like standing up for unpopular MLP characters. (If it weren't for Celestia, I would say Cadence is best princess.)
I tend to be very understanding towards people, and I try to understand why they do what they do. (So whatever you do, do not try to criticize Trixie near me. Granted, she is a braggart and a jerk, but underneath what I see is a pony who just wants to be loved and get attention, and is going about it the wrong way.)
I tend to be very random and silly at times. (What fun is there in making sense?)

So, anyways, nice to be here, and I hope the game comes out soon! :)
