Which villian would you like to see return?

None. If ponies were better at something other children show characters were at, it was making sure they never had to fight the same villain twice.

Though a remake/expy of Tirek would be nice.

On-topic, I'd enjoy seeing Discord return, but not as a villain. His character had far too much potential to be killed off so quickly. Nightmare Moon was a now-vanquished dark side of a princess, and Chrysalis was a generic disney villain.

The return of a villian usually means that the writers are out of ideas.
Discord , and Chrysalis.
Nightmare moon can't return.
Its hard for Discord to return.
Chrysalis can easily return.
So Chrysalis could free discord.
I also loved Discord I want to see him in the show more than just a one episode villian.I hate it when you get too attached to a character you don't want to see them go espicially in just an episode.

Actually, having an arc with a single villain could add depth to her or his character.  I'm talking more than three episodes, not like just a finale or opening.

I would love for a discord return. Discord can be described as a villain with almost endless potential. He could without doubt join the ponies for a episode and then cross them in the next. Chaos is endless

The show goes full grimdark, the series will die. The show loses it's target audience.

it lost its target audience a long time ago, and the trend's been to go steadily towards the grimdark side all of Season 2   The first previews of S3 seem to show a sort of reversal of that, but it sounds like a red herring (despite that everypony bit it and declared it delicious).  Other shows have gone slightly grimmer and darker before and done well.  And note I'm not advocating a full grimmification, just a slight grim-darkening.  If children are willing to watch Courage the Cowardly Dog, I don't think they'd have any problem with a slightly less fluffy show.  Pokemon's "dark" enough, if you want to call it that, and it's got a gigantic fanbase.

And you're fooling yourself if you don't think that 6 year olds still don't watch it. Even if we do outnumber them. The minute the show fully caters to us, I'm blowing this joint because it'll become just like the bad cartoons of the last decade, and the fandom will become as bad as the Sonic fanbase. Need I remind you they started hiring Cartoon Network writers to help with Season 3?

feel free to leave if you want   I'm sure the fandom and the show would continue on quite well for a long time in any event.  And before some mod comes along telling me to "ease up on Lary", It's just my observation that it seems hypocritical/counterproductive/strange to me for somepony who dislikes a show/fandom with such a passion would continue entangling themselves in that show/fandom's community.

If S3 has really bad episodes (as in, REALLY BAD), I'd probably no longer watch the show but still stay in the fanbase.

I thought Pokemon started out as a teen/adult manga with a main character named red and his rival blue. Which then a games blue and red were based off of where in the character names blue and red were available as defaults. Then they made a show based on ash and his pikachu. Which Pokemon yellow was a bit more closely based off of. The is also a secret final boss named Red in it with OP Pokemon.
