Mane Six original concepts

I just started wondering how many other people here have seen the original concepts of the mane six and how they transformed into the ponies we know now. There's even a picture floating around the Internet showing the course of their transformation and including Lauren Faust's original art of them.

Interesting facts:

• Pinkie Pie's first real line of the whole show was the name of the pegasus she originally would've been: "Surprise!"


• They passed Pinkie's wings over to Fluttershy, but Fluttershy still has a connection with animals like an earthpony. Also, maybe this is why she isn't good at flying.


• Firefly was Faust's favorite pony. G3 Rainbow Dash was a girly fashionista, but Faust wanted her to have Firefly's tomboy personality.

I seriously wouldn't mind an earth pony Fluttershy, wouldn't had made a big difference since she never actually use's her wings for most episodes. On that note, I'm glad Faust decided to change Twilight Sparkle's and Rainbow Dash's color scheme, their original colors scare me .

What about in episode 16 (I think it was) where it showed filly Fluttershy falling from Cloudsdale and lands safely because of the animals? This would of been a big change if she was just an earth-pony.

Well, earth ponies can't get to Cloudsdale. Unless you count the (I think non-canon) levitation spell that unicorns can use on earth ponies.

Well, earth ponies can't get to Cloudsdale. Unless you count the (I think non-canon) levitation spell that unicorns can use on earth ponies.

but cloud-walking is canonical enough.
