EDIT: This list is out-of-date! Our latest hiring information can be found here: http://forum.legendsofequestria.com/index.php?topic=16286

Hello, everyone! Once again we're looking for new talent to join the Legends of Equestria team!

If you're interested in game development, passionate about ponies, or simply need a hobby which will put your talents to use, please feel free to send us an email! We are currently accepting applications for the following departments: Concept Artists, Level Designers, Script Implementers, VFX Artists, 2D Artists, 3D Character Animators, Human Resources, and Programmers [last updated September 21th, 2016]. All applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Here are some guidelines for applying:

Concept Artists
Applicants must be comfortable drawing building exteriors, interiors, environmental art, and creatures in the style of the show. In order to apply for a concept artist position, please email [email protected]. Your email should consist of a link to your online portfolio, your Skype username, your primary email address, the amount of time you're able to devote to Legends of Equestria, and your reason for wanting to join the project. Please note that your portfolio should include something other than pony-related fan art.

Script Implementers
Script Implementers are responsible for transitioning written content into technical scripts readable by the servers, placing NPC's and mobs, and adding items. Applicants for this position should have a basic understanding of scripting or coding logic and an ability to debug errors. Potential implementers should be able to devote several hours each week to game work. If interested, please send applications to [email protected].

3D Character Animators
Applicants must be skilled in using Maya to create 3D character animations focusing heavily on quadrupeds.  Plus a willingness to learn.
In your application, please include how much time you are able to volunteer, your age, as well as links to examples of your work. Email attachments will not be accepted. Applicants should have a minimum of 5 examples including a walk cycle.
If you're interested, please follow the guidelines above and send your application to [email protected]

Design:
-Level Designer (a main focus right now!)
Level designers should have drawn work (hand or digital) of macro or micro scale level designs which factor in standard gaming conventions such as pathing, points of interest, mob spawns, elevation, framing, terrain features, quest potential, etc. Previous experience in a 3D engine (Unity, Unreal) is highly sought after. Map/level designers should expect to be trained in Unity to allow the implementation and editing of their designs. Please email [email protected] with examples of your work.

-VFX Artists (another crucial role we're looking to fill right now!)
VFX artists will primarily be in charge of creating and implementing spritesheet animations to be used for various player abilities and ambient world effects. This role will require a blending of traditional toon styled art creation and design with technical implementation in Unity (Shuriken knowledge is a HUGE plus!). If you enjoy creating particle based effects to add an extra kick of visual stimulation, this position is for you! Please email [email protected] with links to examples of your work.

2D Artists
To apply for the 2D team, please email [email protected] with a link to an online portfolio containing examples of your work.

Your portfolio should include:

- One or more textured models and texture sheets that you have created AND/OR your best environmental or architectural artwork.
- 3-5 Pieces of additional artwork that display good use of color, an ability to mimmick the art style of FiM, and good design sense.
- Any addtional works that you wish to include.

Art should be close to or of similar quality to the following works:

Textures and textured models:

The 2D team lead would like to see plenty of examples of environmental art or textured 3D art, moreso than 2D character work or fan art. Applicants must understand the basics of color theory, be able to mimic the art style of the environments and buildings Legends of Equestria, and be able to create vector graphics. Please state how much time you are able to devote to Legends of Equestria, and remember that you will be expected to complete at least one texture per week. Access to programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Flash is not necessary but would be very beneficial.

Human Resources
Legends of Equestria is looking for Human Resources specialists to be the glue of our game development process and help keep operations running smoothly and cleanly! If you are interested in becoming a part of our team and have skills in note-taking and maintaining updates, organization and databasing, and good communication skills all around, please contact [email protected] for further information on the application process.

Applicants for Human Resources must be at least 18 of years of age.

Programming
Potential programmers should be proficient in C# and the use of code to design working mechanics applicable to a 3D MMO environment. Experience and integration in Unity 3D is extremely helpful. To apply please send relevant examples of creative code design and a list of software you use/know to [email protected].

Will there be an entertainment team in the future?  :\

fengchiu1997

Is there still a demand for Server Managers? It is not in the currently hiring list and also it is not listed in currently not hiring.

It's possible that we'll look into something like this in the future, maybe as a sub-section of PR (for example, making/featuring content for our YouTube channel to show off stuff happening in the game), but right now we're still focused on making the game. It might be worth keeping an eye out in the future, though!

Same as above really; not something we're ready for quite yet, but it might be something we do in the future.

Might be worth contacting GoFish (http://bit.ly/1uYVRdR) about that, I believe he's handling that kind of stuff. Generally, if it's not listed then we're not currently looking for help there, but you never know who might be willing to accept a helping hand!
Head of LoE Public Relations, King of Support, and a nuisance!

Doctor Monochrome

I could try my hand at doing some modeling.
The next sentence is false.
The previous sentence is true.

I wouldn't mind helping out!  I'd love to actually!  :D

I have done some 3D modeling for a few indie projects so far, nothing major though.
And also some random level design with the ID tech 3 engine.  (but I'd rather do modeling)

I've already sent an email to Savanapope, and I hope I qualify!   :3

Invultrois

Ah, a fellow id Tech 3 engine level designer!  lol I design levels too! Well, for Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory though, i had some experience with Unity3d but not so good at it atm. Too bad i don't have much free time right now.  :c

Gosh.. I've only made the maps for my own personal use.  lol
And I also haven't done very much with Unity3D yet. XD  I wouldn't mind learning about it though. o3o
I probably should sit down one of these days and take a crack at it...

Colt Zero

So... I just sent in my application for the programming team. Hoping I'm not too late.

sarysa

I sent an app (programmer) in a couple weeks ago but didn't get a reply. Is that a "no" or is that a "spam filter ate it"?

If it's the latter, would it be better to send it as forum PM?

All of the team leaders are very busy and get a lot of applications. Unfortunately it's hard to know if they haven't gotten to it yet or if it's a no, sometimes. I'd wait a full month (maybe two) before assuming it's a no.

Ah, all right. Thanks for the clarification. I had just sent out a "poke" e-mail before checking this thread. I look forward to seeing what's next for LoE in any case!
