I find Twilights' changes the most... jarring.  :I  Her character is so heavily based off the fact that she uses Magic, it'll be weird seeing her differently. It almost seems like the change was done for the sole purpose of rousing the fans. Like it wasn't actually nessisary for any part of the story. They just wanted to take her from an Alicorn to an Earth Pony to cause discussion.

Pinkies' race changes nothing. They could make her into a dragon and she'd still be the same Pinkie Pie.

Fluttershy fits the unicorn race well I think. Unicorns are often seen as delicate gentle creatures that don't appear before humans because they're too shy. I'd say being a Unicorn suits her better than being a Pegasus.

As for which aesthetic design I prefer? I can't really choose. I'm just eager to see how the show is going to change. From what I understand, they're taking the show in a more mature or anime-ish direction? It's really intriguing! How dark will they be willing to go? How serious? What topics will they be dealing with? Are they going to follow a more structured story line? How much action are they pumping into this new series? Is there going to be deep character development? Are all the characters going to be the same at the start, or will they switch up their personalities? I can't wait!!  :D

I think it's safe to say most Unicorns have a sort of, base line of spells they can use. Levitating/manipulating objects being the most basic. The rest likely comes down to their cutie marks, and the usefulness of the spells.

Unless they're studying magic itself, the average pony wouldn't have any use for many of the spells we've seen. Like the one Twilight uses to give facial hair. Unless you're working in a salon, who'd need that?

If a pony is involved in the military or perhaps has a dangerous occupation, they might have more combat/defensive spells. The average Unicorn might find a few defensive spells useful too, for emergencies. But that seems like a personal preference, just like any human would consider learning self-defence.

:o I never made that connection before, but it has merit! It would make sense for there to be some involvement of an outside force causing the change though. Maybe the sirens were originally from the moon, and were 'released' by the solar eclipse Luna caused. Then simply seized the chance to overthrow Celestia? Though, during the Cutie Re-Mark, we don't see any signs of the sirens during the Nightmare Moon reality. Maybe the sirens draw their power from the same source that made Luna into Nightmare Moon? (I didn't watch the whole movie, as I don't have a very good idea how their magic works ^.^')

I do wish that the show put a little more detail into her transformation though. During Twilight's Kingdom, Luna almost looked surprised when that dark magic surrounded her. It seemed that she didn't anticipate the change from her reaction. Whatever that magic was, it was caused/it appeared when she blocked out the sun with the moon, creating the solar eclipse. But we never get a proper explanation as to why it happened, despite seeing this... corruption happening to three alicorns. (Sort of.)

I really thought about it after seeing Flurry Heart. I mean, I had a feeling Twilicorn was happening thanks to that tiara and the whole Celestia's apprentice thing. Cadence was a stretch, but we got a good villain out of it at least.

The real downfall started when Twilight got her butt kicked by Starlight. I mean, yes, we've seen alicorns bested before, but at least their opponents were more than ordinary unicorns who happen to also be cult leaders. They started to...devalue the status of alicorn. Like it didn't really mean or change anything, throughout that whole season. The finale was just the cherry on top.

Then this sh*tty little... wrench through a stained glass window happened, and a baby was born with the same status as someone who had to earn it over a lifetime. Like a bad Mary Sue OC or self insertion fanfic. It was the first time I was genuinely butthurt about something on the show. It killed everything for me. I want to continue watching it, but I've lost all faith in it having a good story.

I always thought dreads would be really cute.

Spoiler: show

But I also throw my vote in for some more curly mane styles. I always tried to make something like my own hair, but there were never any bases that matched.

... in another cartoon featuring amazing characters, beautiful animation, great original songs and a plot deeper than anything you'll ever expect from a kids show? Sounds a lot like another show we all love, I know!

Okay, I may be playing it up a bit. I find it kind of hard to give people a good description of this show, because it just has SO much to it! The references, the songs the animation.....  *-* I may be a bit biased too. But it's better for you to see it for yourself.

It's called "Wander Over Yonder" and is was aired on Disney XD. Unfortunately, like many underrated shows out there, it was canceled before it's third and final season. However, the fans of the show have NOT accepted this, and are now rallying together to try and convince Disney otherwise. If there's one thing I know that Bronies are absolute pros at, it's recognizing a good show when they see it! All I ask is that you give the first episode a chance. Fans of WOY could really use the support of a community as big as the Bronies to help bring more attention to the show. If I haven't convinced you to check it out yet, then allow me to show you just one screen shot from my favorite episode...
