So by now I imagine everyone has seen the movie. What did you all think of Rainbow Rocks?

I was extremely critical of the first Equestria Girls film, and put off seeing the second one because of that. But after hearing so many positive reviews I decided to watch the stream when it premiered on TV.

It was actually pretty good. :I

The songs were top notch, easily some of the best Danny Ingram has come up with to date. That alone should be reason enough to see it if you haven't already.

I thought the plot device to reopen the mirror/portal was clever. It didn't feel too forced or contrived; it flowed quite well.

The Dazzlings were great villains. I rather like their designs and am glad they weren't oversexualized. Sonata Dusk quickly seems to have become a fan favourite! :P

Plenty of background characters got some airtime, which was nice to see.
Including that one mildly suggestive scene with a certain singing duet. I'm definitely not the only one to perceive it that way. X3

Aside from the music, I think my favourite part of the movie was Sunset Shimmer. Her character got fleshed out more and I seem to have taken a liking to her. In fact, I daresay I'd love to see her return to Equestria and become a recurring character in the main series. ^-^
I recall a lot of fuss about Twilight's royal station being ignored during season 4. Now that we've had plenty of time to reflect on this season's ending, I wonder how people feel about this now?

I personally expect to see a lot more recognition of her authority in season 5 now that she's settled in and everypony has gotten used to her. I'm happy with how season 4 portrayed her, easing us into this mindset of thinking of her as an alicorn Princess rather than forcing an entirely different character with a familiar face onto us.

Thoughts? ^-^

I figured it was about time I introduced myself, having been lurking and posting here for some months now. So without further ado...

Kalli is my online moniker. Kuddly by name, though Kranky by nature. I fancy myself as an artist, writer, and procrastinator; I have an as-yet empty deviantArt profile and am currently researching ancient history and mythology while fleshing out a setting for the fantasy/horror books I intend to write.

I have a passion for the arts, sciences, politics, gaming, and the occult. I'm an outspoken feminist and social justice warrior. I like cats, reading, listening to music (orchestral movie/game soundtracks are my favourite), and arguing with strangers on the internet.

Recently I discovered MLP:FiM which has since soothed my rage somewhat. Thus, here I am.

I greet you all coldly, as it is Winter here and I dislike warmth. I look forward to both assisting and terrorising you all in Legends of Equestria! My, erm... "ponysona" ...is a delightfully creepy unicorn named Jinxie Umbra. You may have seen her lurking in the Everdark Forest in open server weekends earlier this year.

Perhaps you wonder, "who is this crazy woman and how did she get into ponies?" Ahh, memories...

Spoiler: show
'Twas late 2012 when my curiosity got the better of me. I had heard about people actually liking the 'My Little Pony' cartoon, and it boggled my mind.

"Honestly, how can such a thing be possible?" >:/

So I sat down and watched the first episode on YouTube. It was a two-parter, so naturally I had to watch the second part as well.

"That was okay," I told myself. "The lore isn't that bad. Some interesting ideas, like having a demigod ruling over the land. And this 'Nightmare Moon' character intrigues me..."

I decided to see where things went from there, so I watched the next episode. Then I figured I'd watch the next one. And the one after that.

It was the morning birds screeching outside that broke the trance. Seeing the morning sun shining through the crack under my door, I realised now that I had stayed up all night watching half the first season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I took a moment to reflect upon this awkward turn of events.

"Not that bad. Actually, that Winter Wrap Up song was pretty catchy. And I like how they manually control the weather. Also, three physically different species living together? Fascinating..."

I ended up watching the rest of season one. Saw no reason to stop, so I started on season two.

"Is that...? No, surely it can't be... sounds just like him, but... no way it's him..." :/

Having recently acquired the Star Trek: TNG series on DVD, I was pretty crazy about the character Q. And naturally, Discord felt one and the same. I even looked up the voice actor and sure enough it was the same man. This was indisputably awesome, and so I sped through the rest of the season with fresh enthusiasm for the show, hoping to see more of Discord. But alas...

'A Canterlot Wedding' is what finally sealed the deal. Despite my favourite Princess falling into one of several plot holes and not re-emerging until the end, I was left mesmerised by the season two finale. I loved everything about the changelings and their queen. And that song ('This Day Aria') was Disney quality!

I was thoroughly impressed, and declared that I was officially a fan of MLP:FiM. ^-^

I am, however, unwilling to even consider looking at the previous generations of the show. I have seen glimpses of them in years past, and to this day I remain traumatised by them.
